What are Medicare Advantage plans?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans offer all the benefits of Original Medicare, many with extras like dental, vision, and hearing benefits. Most include prescription drug coverage.
What Medicare Advantage plans are available from UnitedHealthcare?
UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans include Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) plans, and Special Needs plans (SNPs). Not all plans are available in all areas.
How much does a Medicare Advantage plan cost?
Costs may include a premium you pay for the plan, a deductible you pay for services until coverage begins, and cost sharing like copayments and coinsurance for some of the care you receive.
A fee you pay to the plan for coverage. Some Medicare Advantage plans have a low or even $0 monthly premium. You may still need to pay a premium for Part B coverage.
The amount you pay out of pocket for health care before your plan begins to pay. Most Medicare Advantage plans only have a prescription drug deductible.
A set amount you pay for a covered medical service or prescription drug. For example, some plans might charge a $40 copay each time you see a specialist.
A percentage of the total cost for a covered medical service or prescription drug. You pay the coinsurance and your plan pays the remaining amount.
